Eggnog Monkey Bread
I absolutely love this time of year. Except the whole it being dark outside both when I wake up and when I get home from work. That’s lame. But…the Christmas songs on the radio. The peppermint-flavored everything. Decorating the house. Oh, and cookies 24/7. All day, every day. My goal in December is to eat so many cookies that come January 1st, all I crave are vegetables. Okay, well that’s not the actual goal. It just kind of always ends up that way because I’m cookie-obsessed. #thisiswhyimfat
Christmas this year is extra special because it’s the first with our little Olivia. You better believe I’ll be spoiling the heck out of her every Christmas. I’ve been busy shopping up a storm for her. That’s right ladies, I do all the Christmas shopping in our house, especially when it involves children’s toys. I love my wife an incredible amount and she’s amazing in many ways, but braving the toy store is not one of them. She gets overwhelmed by both the amount of people and toys. I, on the other hand, love shopping for gifts. I thrive on the chaos of Christmas shopping.
You know what else makes me ridiculously happy? Entertaining around the holidays. There’s nothing better in my mind than getting friends and family together, and cooking up an enormous amount of food. If you’re doing any holiday entertaining and need a super quick and easy breakfast recipe…boom. Eggnog Monkey Bread Muffins. Okay, so I know I said breakfast. Yes, these totally could be dessert as well. But I put the word muffin in the title specifically so we could all get away with eating them for breakfast. You’re welcome.
Here’s why I love this recipe. It’s a great way to use up the last little bit of eggnog you have lying around. You spent all that time making homemade eggnog (you did make it from scratch, right?!), so you don’t want any of that liquid gold to go to waste!
And yes, these little bundles of eggnog joy really are a super quick and easy holiday breakfast recipe. All it takes is 10 minutes of prep. I promise. Although I’m sure you all have your favorite homemade eggnog recipes, mine features Safest Choice™ Eggs, because well, they freaking rock. I love that I never ever have to worry about Salmonella or anything like that, because these bad boys are pasteurized! And duh, they taste great.
So go ahead. Get your ‘nog on. And then make these individual Eggnog Monkey Bread Muffins for breakfast the next day. Merry Christmas everyone! Want to know how you can get your hands on Safest Choice™ Eggs? Visit the store locator and enter your zip code—it’s that easy!
