Safest Choice Holiday Eggs-travaganza at Albertsons

On Saturday, December 15th, Safest Choice Eggs hosted a Holiday Eggs-travaganza at the Fullerton, California Albertsons store location. There were three holiday recipe demonstrations, food serving tips and lots of good company. Catherine McCord, of the Weelicious blog, and Chef Louise Mellor, of the Geez Louise blog, were kind enough to help us with our recipe demonstrations.

Louise kicked off the event by showing the group how to make a safe Caesar salad using our pasteurized eggs. Louise adapted our recipe for the holidays by adding in Asian pears and dried cranberries. And true to her style, she suggested serving Caesar salad in vintage bowls or cocktail cups. Her recipe looked very festive!

A great group of bloggers attended the Eggs-travaganza, which was part of Albertsons Open House event. Johanna and Jeff from Low Sodium Blog, Cynthia from What A Girl Eats, Nancy from A Communal Table, Cheri from Adventures in the Kitchen, Quyen from Kitchen Runway, Priscilla from She’s Cookin, Kim from Rustic Garden Bistro, Sarah from A Beach Home Companion and Valerie from Mama Likes to Cook were all game to sample food and learn more about how Safest Choice eggs are pasteurized.

The next recipe demonstration was given by Catherine McCord. She taught the group how to make here quick and easy breakfast quesadillas recipe. Catherine likes making this recipe for her children anytime of the day; breakfast, lunch or dinner. She also suggested serving her recipe with salsa and guacamole for a quick party appetizer.

For the last demonstration I showed how easy it is to make royal icing. All it takes is two ingredients, powdered sugar and our pasteurized egg whites. During the event we shared Rose Levy Beranbaum’s royal icing and traditional rolled Christmas sugar cookies recipes. Thanks so much to Albertsons for allowing us to participate in their Open House event and helping us promote that we are now available in a number of their Southern California locations! And thank you to all the bloggers that attended!
