Toasted Marshmallow Frozen Custard Recipe
Summer is my favorite season. There’s so much fun to have and so many things to do. One of my favorite things we’ve been doing for years now is our weekend beach trips. We live very close to Daytona, so we get to drive on the beach. I’ll pack a picnic lunch and we’ll spend the afternoon on the beach. It’s so much fun and so easy because you have your car right there.
When we’re headed home we always stop at the same frozen custard shop. It’s my favorite and the perfect way to end a fun filled beach day. They have so many different flavors, but I love the simple flavors like vanilla the best. Then I can add any topping I’m in the mood for.
We don’t get to go the beach and stop by my favorite frozen custard place nearly as often as I’d like, so I decided to make my own frozen custard at home. I wanted to develop an easy recipe that I could make anytime that was full of flavor, rich, and creamy with no chance of icy bits.
My other guilty pleasure is roasted marshmallows. I’ve been obsessed with them since my mom let me finally use the stove by myself. I would roast them one by one on a fork ever so slowly till they were perfectly golden and melted. So I decided to combine roasted marshmallow goodness and creamy rich custard.
This recipe is super simple. You just toast mini marshmallows in the oven. This is pretty messy. Be sure to use parchment paper or a silicone baking mat. Then stream in some hot cream and milk to egg yolks that are blending in the blender. Get those all incorporated and add the toasty marshmallow goo and some vanilla extract. Blend it up good and refrigerate overnight. This will be thick.

Then add the thick custard to your ice cream machine and blend for 15–20 minutes, or until thick and creamy. Then serve or save in an airtight container for later.
This toasted marshmallow frozen custard is a very rich, creamy custard that’s full of flavor. I like to serve this in small servings with just one or two toppings. Add your favorite nut and fruit combinations. Or serve with chocolate syrup and broken graham crackers to make this the perfect frozen s’more treat like I’ve done here!
