You Win Some, You Lose Some
Updated at 10:15 a.m. CST on 7/16/12: As of last week Safest Choice Eggs are back in almost all Harris Teeter locations! We’re so thrilled to be back in such great stores and are very happy that fans of our pasteurized eggs can now find them at a Harris Teeter store near them again!
Updated at 5:05 p.m. CST on 6/4/12: We have great news to share! This afternoon we got word from Harris Teeter that we will be back in stores soon! We are thrilled by this news and are so happy to have the opportunity to work with such great retail partners like Harris Teeter. It is still a work in progress as we begin working with a new distributor, but we will let you know as soon as we are back on the shelves at Harris Teeter.
Recently, Harris Teeter decided to replace Davidson’s Safest Choice eggs with another, non-pasteurized egg. As a result Harris Teeter customers have not been able to buy pasteurized shell eggs. However, we are excited to share that we are now available in Farm Fresh Supermarkets! You may also find us in your area at Lowes, Publix, Kroger and Shoprite. To find a store near you that carries Safest Choice eggs search your zip code here.
It is really disappointing because many people who depend on Safest Choice to manage salmonella risk will now have difficulty finding them. And, Harris Teeter was one of the first grocery stores to begin carrying our product over six years ago. If you shop at Harris Teeter please let them know that you’d like them to bring Safest Choice pasteurized eggs back.
Over the past couple of weeks we have talked with a number of people, on the phone and on Facebook, who enjoy our eggs and used to buy them at Harris Teeter. Thank you so much for reaching out to us and for your continued support! We are frustrated by this news as well, and want to clear up some confusion. It is not due to supply issues or coupon values that we are no longer available in Harris Teeter.
We continue to expand our grocery retail distribution nationally. Also, we are still working with Harris Teeter. We promise to provide updates on all these efforts.
