Egg Recall

Davidson's Eggs are a Safe Alternative to Recalled Eggs

Dear Friend,

You may have seen the FDA alert, or heard via the media, about last Friday’s recall regarding shell eggs that contain Salmonella— see the full FDA release.  These organic shell eggs were sold through Safeway and Costco stores throughout the Western region of the United States, and were sourced from farms in Northern California. The FDA will further investigate and  more information is forthcoming. At this point we do not know if any Salmonella-infected eggs have entered the foodservice supply chain.

According to the FDA, FSIS/ USDA, the NRA ServSafe guidelines and other food safety experts, the best practice recommendation for food service operators regarding eggs is using only pasteurized eggs. Use of pasteurized eggs, whether liquid or shell, in all recipes, will keep you, your guests and your employees safe from Salmonella illness.

National Pasteurized Eggs Inc. (NPE) is an award-winning leader in “farm to fork” food safety best practices as our patented process eliminates Salmonella in shell eggs before it enters the food supply chain. We are responsible for nearly 1 billion eggs entering the supply chain completely Salmonella free. By using NPE pasteurized shell eggs under the Davidson’s Safest Choice brand, the egg-related Salmonella risk is eliminated.

STOP Salmonella from entering the supply chain. Thank you for being part of the growing community who has made food safety best practices a part of their day to day operations.  We look forward to hearing from you with any questions or comments you may have.

Sincerely,

Jay Berglind
Vice President – Business Development
