National Pasteurized Eggs

Letter from the President

Welcome to our new National Pasteurized Eggs, Inc. website. National Pasteurized Eggs, Inc. (NPE) is our company name. However you may know us by our brand name, Davidson's Safest Choice®. We were founded in 2001 and are today the largest producer of pasteurized shell eggs in the world. Our web address, www.safeeggs.com, was chosen because it defines our mission as well as the ultimate expectation of today's consumer. What we do is simple. We take nature's perfect food and make it perfectly safe! Our processes are unlike any other. Using our worldwide patented water bath pasteurization processes, we eliminate dangerous Salmonella bacteria and viruses without altering the look, cook, taste or nutritional gold standard of an ordinary shell egg. We bring our customers egg safety without compromise.

During the last couple years, our safe, pasteurized shell eggs have grown from supply in just a few states to fulfilling the food safety and culinary needs of consumers, restaurants, corporations, institutions and chefs throughout the U.S.

Our pasteurized shell eggs now have joined the many other everyday favorite foods that are already protecting consumers from foodborne bacteria. Items such as milk, cheese and juice are today safe for all our families and restaurants thanks to pasteurization.

Shell eggs today remain one of the few food products consumers more often than not will consume raw or only partially cooked, leaving consumers at risk for possible Salmonella. Pasteurized shell eggs are an important option which allows consumers to enjoy their favorite egg styles without bacterial risk. We are proud that our pasteurized shell eggs are a key component in our nation’s fight to eliminate illnesses and outbreaks from egg-related Salmonella. We appreciate and send our thanks to those restaurants and consumers that have helped expand the awareness of pasteurized shell eggs as a food safety priority.

We hope you will find our website to be a great safety resource.

Sincerely,

Greg West
