Royal Gin Fizz Recipe

It’s the egg that makes this Gin Fizz royal. Cold, refreshing, and sure to please!

  • 3 oz (3 shots) gin
  • 2 oz (2 shots) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz (1 shot) gomme (also called simple syrup)*
  • 5 oz soda water (also called seltzer water)
  • 1 Davidson's Safest Choice® pasteurized egg(s)
  • maraschino cherries (optional)


  1. Fill shaker with ice.
  2. Add egg, lemon juice, gin, and gomme*.
  3. Shake and strain into a chilled highball glass (8-12 ounce) filled with ice cubes.
  4. Top with soda water.
  5. Garnish with maraschino cherries, if desired.


*To make gomme/simple syrup

Pour 1 tablespoon sugar into 1 tablespoon hot water. Stir until dissolved. Allow to cool.


May substitute club soda or lemon-lime soda for soda water for a sweeter flavor.
