Kosher Diets
If you follow Kosher dietary, or kashrut, laws, you'll be happy to know that the Safest Choice™ egg pasteurization facilities and production are managed under strict Kosher approval standards, and our pasteurized eggs hold the Circle U designation of the Orthodox Union. These standards address the food itself, equipment, and processing.
By Kosher standards, eggs generally are designated pareve, meaning they classify as non-meat, non-dairy foods. The Kosher designation on Safest Choice™ pasteurized eggs also means that there are no animal-derived ingredients in our eggs.
Baking Kosher also means using Kosher eggs, according to the Parve Baker. Most authorities suggest cracking open fresh eggs and checking for blood spots (which are uncommon). If absent, the egg is OK to use.
